Chloe's Build Steps - Part 7 : Front Door, TV and Cabinets

Only 6 weeks To Go now, before Chloe's launch day.

Things are going Great in Cherbourg as Chloe is completing her build phases. Here's a short video showing Chloe's current state of construction. We're just delighted with the level of quality and craftsmanship we're seeing.

Some very solid bedroom storage cabinets have been fabricated and installed above the master berth that will allow Peter to store all his shoes and hand bags neatly.

Chloe's pair of ship's compasses are in. Peter will have to capture the boat's Compass Deviation - and plug it into the TVMDC app that he wrote a few years back. He stuck it on iTunes for people learning about Navigation.

Chloe's solid companion way doors have also been installed - these are truly impressive doors with heavy duty double glazing and 3 solid locking points on each side. They should keep out any invasive chucks of green water that try to jump inside.

We found a cool swinging TV bracket that will allow a 32" TV to swing down nicely from the ceiling, in the salon. Only when we're not underway though - will be the rule.

Chloe's fridge and freezer are installed. Highly insulated and simple. 12v-DC powered. No unreliable water cooled fridges for Chloe - they were a nice idea back in the day, but not really in line with the KISS principle. Refrigeration energy is usually ranked very high on the list of a sailing boat's energy drain so people were keen to find ways to not drain their batteries. These days we'll use more modern technology to keep it simple and instead rely upon Chloe's oversized PV panels and Lithium Phosphate batteries to keep our fish 'n beer cool.
