It's Christmas of 2018. Everyone is looking to take time off. The world is looking a bit gloomy. The 'Trump Slump' is continuing in the USA, with their deficit skyrocketing and the US Stock market is in Free-fall. A US led Recession is looming.
On the bright side however, Chloe has made some solid progress over the past few weeks. Her sole plates (floor boards) are partially installed and her bulkheads are being constructed. Inside her spaghetti insides are being covered up with a more homey look 'n feel. The beautiful veneered marine ply future has started!
Chloe's Technical Locker is being lined, insulated and furnished. The aft bulkhead, shown here in marine ply, includes a water tight door so as to be able to access the steering gear.
Her hull insides and ceiling members are all lined with closed cell neoprene foam insulation.
Chloe will have a pair of 250 liter fresh water tanks with switchable feeds and drains. the water maker will be able to fill either one so as to isolate any potential water making problems.
Her manifolds are all fabricated in standard PEX pipe plumbing.
Looking forwards, Chloes forward master bed is almost made. Two large slide out drawers will hold a lot of clothing & stuff. Her bow thruster systems will be accessible, under the bed also. Forward of her the master bed, is a water tight, welded bulkhead that partitions off the sail locker. Her forward birth's flooring has also been installed.
Chloe's aft, port, bed room has been floored and her water maker has been installed so that its raw water inlet is below the water line - preventing the need for a feed pump. Visible in white and blue, is the 60 liters (16 gallons) per hour, 12v DC water maker that uses industry standard RI membranes. All this, fresh water will be stored in her two 250 Liter fresh water tanks and filtered though a standard 10", 3 stage mesh & carbon filter bank before use.
January 2019
Progress slowed a little over the Christmas period, as expected. But by very early January the head and shower can be seen coming along nicely and with the base of the guest, aft, port stateroom. Lots of good storage on this boat, essential for long distance expeditions. you can also see the steering gear though the aft steering gear access hatch.
