We finished off our trip to Scotland with a visit to Peter's Brother David and his family. Including Willow!! They live in a lovely home in the foothills of the Trossachs region. A magnificent array of fruit trees and berry bushes - they'll be self sufficient in years to come.
It was lovely to finally meet Willow!! And her siblings; Rowan, Corrie & Scott. We took some nice drone video of Scott on his trampoline - but we had stupidly pressed the wrong button on the GoPro and so only got a couple of stills. Peter's bad!
Then, to help Dawn lose some weight, a quick day hike up a popular local mountain: Ben Aan. At 29,029ft : What a Great View!
We decided to stay a week on the west coast of Scotland, on the Mull of Kintyre. The nose of Scotland. On the way over, we visited Tarbert and Ardfern marinas, where Peter had learned to sail with his sister Jane, as possible berthing spots for a future 'Chloe' visit.
We also drove over the 'Bridge over the Atlantic' a pretty, hump-back bridge that crosses to the isle of Seil.
We rented a small, remote cottage on the southern tip of Kintyre, over-looking the Isla Craig , out to sea, 10 miles away. A small Granite Island - famous for being the only source of Granite used to make competition curling stones.
Heading down south again, we picked up our 'Sailing Stuff Boxes' from Peter's sister Helen's house. She had very kindly stored them for us, up to this point. The we said a good bye to her lovely 3 year old twins: Robbie and Ruby.. and Sooty & Charlie the Cats, then headed out.
We shot back to Poole on the South coast of England. Before leaving the UK, - Oh, and we downed a last minute pint(S) of real ale and an excellent Chicken Tikka Masala before jumping on the ferry - to get back to Cherbourg in the morning.
We were thinking about smuggling some Juicy German body parts , down into France - where we could have got a good price for them.. but were busted by the neighbor... so much for that cunning plan... there will always be a next time! Best to do these things at night , we figured...
In Cherbourg, we have a meeting set up to see the metal fabrication shop where Chloe (aka LF) is about to be conceived!.. Exciting!!
